HOW INTEGRATIONS WORK
Connect each marketplace once through their official secure authorisation flow. Northflo then handles inventory sync, listing publishing, and order tracking automatically. You never share marketplace passwords with Northflo.
Each integration uses OAuth 2.0, the industry standard used by every professional SaaS. You authorise Northflo through the platform directly. We only receive the specific permissions you grant, and you can disconnect any integration at any time.
Behind the scenes, Northflo handles the technical complexity: image sizes, character limits, category structures, and tag systems. You upload once; Northflo formats correctly for every destination.

We request access to read shop listings and transactions, plus create and update listings. We never request your password, buyer messaging, financial information, or shop settings beyond listings.
Disconnect from Northflo settings or Etsy Apps at any time — access is revoked immediately. Northflo operates as an approved Etsy Open API third-party application and is not endorsed by or affiliated with Etsy.

CONNECTION & PERMISSIONS
Install Northflo from the Shopify App Store or connect through OAuth in your Northflo dashboard. We request product and inventory read/write access, order reads for sales tracking, and basic shop information. We never access admin credentials, customer data beyond order tracking, shop themes, payments, financial reports, or settings.
Uninstall Northflo in Shopify Admin or disconnect from Northflo settings to revoke access immediately. Northflo follows Shopify Partner Program requirements and is an independent third-party application, not affiliated with Shopify.

Connect through Instagram’s official OAuth flow via Facebook Business Suite. Northflo requests only permission to publish content, read basic account information, and read post insights. An Instagram Business account, a connected Facebook Business page, and page admin access are required. We never access passwords, direct messages, personal accounts, or follow activity.
Disconnect in Northflo or revoke access in Facebook Business Suite. Northflo uses the Instagram Graph API under Meta’s Platform Terms and is not endorsed by or affiliated with Instagram or Meta.

We never access passwords, personal accounts, messaging, or follow activity.
Disconnect in Northflo or revoke access in Pinterest Apps and Connections. Northflo uses the Pinterest API under Pinterest’s developer terms and is not endorsed by or affiliated with Pinterest.

Secure access, without sharing your password
Every marketplace connection uses OAuth 2.0, the industry standard for secure third-party access. Northflo is only granted the precise permissions you approve.
01 You click Connect — choose Etsy, Shopify, Instagram, or Pinterest in Northflo.
02 You are redirected — sign in on the platform’s own website, never with Northflo.
03 You review permissions — the platform displays exactly what Northflo is asking to do.
04 You authorise — approve only when you are comfortable. You can decline at any time.
05 The platform issues a token — it contains only the permissions you granted.
06 Northflo stores it securely — encrypted, never in plain text, and never visible to staff.
07 Northflo acts only when authorised — for example, to publish a listing or check inventory.
08 You disconnect any time — revoke access in Northflo or directly with the platform; the token is invalidated immediately.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CONNECT?
60–90 seconds per platform. Preferences take a few more minutes if you want custom defaults.
CAN I CONNECT MULTIPLE SHOPS?
One shop per platform on Standard and Growth. Pro and Enterprise support multiple shops.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I DISCONNECT?
Access is revoked immediately. Existing listings and historical Northflo data remain; ongoing sync stops until you reconnect.
WILL NORTHFLO DELETE MY LISTINGS?
No. Disconnecting only removes Northflo’s ability to make changes; your live platform listings stay live.
CAN I TEST BEFORE COMMITTING?
Yes. Your 30-day free trial includes full integration functionality.
WHAT IF A PLATFORM CHANGES ITS API?
We monitor platform APIs and update Northflo when changes are released, usually within 24 hours.
HOW ARE RATE LIMITS HANDLED?
Northflo queues actions intelligently so normal workflows stay within each platform’s limits.
CAN I CONTROL WHICH ITEMS SYNC?
Yes. Set platform destinations per item and keep selected inventory exclusive to specific channels.
DO YOU SUPPORT INTERNATIONAL MARKETPLACES?
Etsy and Shopify work with international versions. eBay will support key global marketplaces at launch.
WHAT IS ON THE ROADMAP?
eBay is weeks away; Xero follows in 8–12 weeks. QuickBooks Online, TikTok Shop, and Facebook Marketplace are under evaluation.
DO INTEGRATIONS COST EXTRA?
No. All integrations are included in your Northflo plan, with no per-platform fees.
WHAT HAPPENS IF A PLATFORM HAS AN OUTAGE?
Sync pauses until the provider is restored. Your Northflo data remains safe and accessible.
CAN I USE NORTHFLO WITHOUT MARKETPLACES?
Yes — for inventory management, manually entered sales, analytics, and forecasting.
WHAT HAPPENS TO MY DATA IF NORTHFLO SHUTS DOWN?
Your Etsy listings and Shopify products remain on their native platforms. Northflo is the interface layer, not the system of record.

Northflo operates as an approved third-party application for each connected platform. We comply with developer terms, API usage policies, data handling requirements, and rate limits for Etsy, Shopify, Instagram, and Pinterest. Northflo does not scrape platforms, use unofficial APIs, or bypass platform security measures. All integrations use official approved methods.
